Privacy policy

This is a plain-English document. If anything here is unclear, tell us and we'll fix it.

What we collect

When you use Camdell we collect:

  • Account data — name, email address, phone number, and password (hashed).
  • Delivery data — addresses you save or enter at checkout.
  • Order data — the items you buy, prices paid, and fulfilment status.
  • Payment data — we do not store card numbers. Payments are processed by PCI-compliant third-party providers (Razorpay, Stripe).
  • Device and usage data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, and crash reports to help us fix bugs.
  • Location data — approximate location (city-level) for shop discovery; precise GPS only when you explicitly share it for delivery.

How we use it

We use your data to:

  • Process and fulfil your orders.
  • Send order confirmations, delivery updates, and receipts.
  • Show you shops and products relevant to your location and history.
  • Investigate disputes, fraud, and safety incidents.
  • Improve the app — fixing bugs, measuring feature performance, and testing new ideas.
  • Send you promotional emails and push notifications. You can opt out at any time in account settings.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

Who we share it with

We share limited data with:

  • Merchants — your name, phone number, and delivery address so the shop can prepare and send your order.
  • Delivery partners — name and address for the courier who picks up your order.
  • Payment processors — only the data required to authorise your payment.
  • Infrastructure providers — cloud hosting (AWS) and analytics tools, all operating under data processing agreements.
  • Law enforcement — only when legally required and to the extent required.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance (typically 7 years for transaction records).

Your rights

Depending on your country, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Opt out of marketing communications.
  • Object to certain processing activities.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@camdell.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and measure how the site performs. For full details, see our Cookie policy.

Children's privacy

Camdell is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or in-app banner. Continued use of Camdell after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
